Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
We bought it as an abandoned project about 4 years ago, and have been accumulating parts ever since. 5.3 is at the machine shop being built and going to install a new 4l60e. The eight inch superlift is coming off this weekend and a new ez ride 4 inch is going on. Keep meaning to start a build thread (hopefully I will get to it this weekend).

Added a lift then swapped out the original tires and wheels for aftermarket... on 1:64 scale.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
The Blazer is Johnny Lightning brand. You can find them all over ebay. The detail on these is amazing all they way down to the console. The wheels are from a Baja Hot Wheels. Seller Pibes-diecast on ebay sells the wheels. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F152805616223

Finished a vent window rebuild - my third set and the experience was as painful as the first time.

I notice some have the top, and some don't. The ones that do have the top, is it removable? I checked the link for those wheels also, but unfortunately they want $12 just to ship them to me. I found that a bit excessive for four small little wheels. Last edited by hemi43; 01-14-2018 at 09:59 PM. |

Shipping was only $2.90 and $10 for each additional pair of axles so I purchased three pair to justify shipping here in the US. $12 seems off so you might want to check with the seller because the listing details indicates it should cost "CANADA $9.00 1-10 SETS, $0.10 CENTS EACH ADDITIONAL SET". Swapping the wheels and tires is a little involved requiring patience to set the new ones in place. The old axles need to be snipped with wire cutters. The new alxes had to be narrowed so I snipped the new axles and used JB weld to fasten the axles to the undercarriage instead of threading them through the chassis. I plan on soldering the next set seminar the axles can be pulled out. You can find videos on YouTube searching matchbox wheel swaps where folks have already done something similar.

You are going to love the Red Head Steering Gear - have them on both of my projects now. The upgrade was well worth the $.
