Simple starter kill switch

What is the easiest way to install a kill switch for the starter solenoid to prevent theft? Can I just install a on/off toggle switch in line to cut power or ground?

That is hard if you can't lock your hood or your steering wheel. No stater kill or battery disconnect will help on an old car. A couple jumper wires with alligator clips will get it started and running. I just take my coil wire with me if I am concerned where it is parked.

We used to do ignition or stater cuts that required you to pull the high beam switch or the right window switch up or cigarette lighter pushed in to activate the relay to allow the vehicle to be started.

On an old car, a club or brake pedal to steering wheel lock would be more of a deterrent.

Easier to put a switch inline with your coil power feed. It'll crank all day, won't get any spark. Thats what I did with my HEI.

I also have a battery kill switch, it's wired inline with the battery to engine ground. Switch off, nothing gets power anyways.

Someone is going to have to figure out both to steal mine.

or switch the neutral safety switch.

personally I put 4 switches under the steering wheel.they are 3 position switches and not hidden, up-down-center.
if first switch is moved up or down, horn and lights go off for 1 minute.
2nd switch brings power in, 3rd switch sends that power to HEI. 4th switch if for neutral safety switch.
So basically you have to know the right combination.
Trouble with a hidden switch is you want it somewhat easily accessible and they will look for that right way. this year I'm going to put a hood lock and alarm also.
seems likes every old car show and suggested the high beam button so that no longer a secret.
Fuel cut off strands them in the middle of the road close by for another option

the tracking unit is awesome but why not make it 12v instead of batteries. 2 week battery life a hassle but I like the unit otherwise.
no subscription fee?

Neutral switch is a good idea.

Keep an old iphone that is signed in with your apple ID in the truck with a power cable connected to charge it.
