The factory line went into a fitting at the top of the block, through the firewall to the factory guage cluster. The later years mounted a oil pressure sender on the top of the block (same hole) or mounted in the block at the oil filter area (your picture). If you want to mount in the oil filter area match the fittings at any parts house with a direct line or use a sending unit. Hope, this helps! Thanks, Dan

Thank you.........

I think you said there's a chance my BBC had a sending unit, which I didn't know existed on these trucks. But I can use what I got, which are available at a part's house.

I wonder why they used a sensor? Seems just as well not to have one........My 72 402 has the same fittings in the same spot. Perhaps they chucked the sensor as well. The block in the image is off my 71.

Tony, I believe that is just a 3/8 to 1/8 pipe bushing.

I don't think any of the big blocks had an oil port on the top of the block. They were all on the side of the filter boss like his. The only '67-'72 trucks that had senders were the ones with the warning light instrument clusters.
