Re: 67-72 Suburban OE seats
When I did mine a couple years ago, myself and my upholstery shop could not find anyone making 2nd row size foam.
I haven't looked recently, but I'm betting there still isn't anyone making pre formed foam like the 1st row yet. What I do know, is that the pre formed foam replacements are super expensive. So plan for sticker shock.

Re: 67-72 Suburban OE seats
Who sells the full size 2nd row bench covers? They are about 58 inches long and I can't find anyone that sells them! I can find the 48 in long blazer/burb third seat but no full size second bench seat covers! First row bench won't work because they don't cover the backs of the seats.
Help! I feel like I have looked everywhere. LMC, Brothers, no name online shops. |

Re: 67-72 Suburban OE seats
Pretty sure no one is making burb specific seat covers for the rear.
The 3rd bench is Blazer size, so shops get more business selling them to Blazer and burb people. But when it comes to burb only, it seems no one stocks them. I had all of my seat covers made by a local shop, and I supplied all original style materials for the job.

Re: 67-72 Suburban OE seats
It has the short rear brackets, so I would think that this is a 2nd row bench.

Re: 67-72 Suburban OE seats
Yes that's what I thought my buddy measured the second row in the 72 highlander Burban I sold him and it measures 48" definitely factory. So I'm not sure why this seat is 4.5" shorter. Maybe I'll ask him to triple check the measurements. Thanx

Re: 67-72 Suburban OE seats
I don't recall the exact measurement of what I call the "short bench", but like my burb I have a short bench as a second row. This same bench fits just fine as a 3rd bench between the wheel wells, and could be converted to a 3rd bench if I set it up with 3rd bench brackets.
So what you may have here is just a 2nd row short bench. GM offered full length and short benches for the second row.

Re: 67-72 Suburban OE seats
Can’t quite get my head around this. I have two blazer rear seats. These will fit as second and third row in my burb? Will either blazer bracket work or what do I need?

Re: 67-72 Suburban OE seats
2nd and third row brackets are different. I believe the blazer rear seat is the same as the suburban 3rd row seat But not sure. I do have a 3rd row at the shop I can take pics and give you specs on the 3rd row brackets Monday if nobody replies before then.

Re: 67-72 Suburban OE seats
So my burb has a full length 2nd row seat. 58 inches. No third row but I want to add one. I have two blazer benches both 50 inches. I believe looking at factory diagram that second and third row are both 50 inches. I probably can change full length mounts from second row onto shorter third row? Matt

Re: 67-72 Suburban OE seats
In search of either bucket or front bench frame and brackets for my 70 suburban. Going to recover with new foam and vinyl, but I can't find the frames anywhere. Any suggestions? Help please!

Re: 67-72 Suburban OE seats
I found a second row seat for a 1975 Blazer, The bolt holes in my 72 burb measure about 42 in. for the third row seat the blazer seat rear brackets measure 35 1/2. does anyone know if the brackets can be moved on the blazer seat or would I have to relocate the holes in mv 72.
Thanks Kevin |

Yes, both blazer seats will fit in your burb for 2nd & 3rd row. The blazer seat is direct fit for the 3rd row in the burb. You will have to swap out the Blazer brackets for 2nd row burb brackets to use it as a second row. The 3rd row brackets are roughly 4" tall front and back while the 3nd row brackets are roughly 2" in rear and 7" in front to allow for the step down in the floor from the wood to metal section. I do have some nice 2nd row brackets if you want to do some swapping. Richard

The rear holes center to center on the 67-72 brackets are roughly 44.25'' so you will have to do some mods to make it work, but since it is plywood floor it should be fairly simple. Richard

here is what I have. They are Grade 8 bolts with armor coat on them to help keep from rusting. the front hold down bolts are 7/16"-20 x 1.5" long and the rear bolts are 1/2"-13 x 1.5" I would need to know if your seats have 2 or 4 rear brackets in order to give you pricing on them. You can pm me with that info so this thread does not get cluttered. .

Re: 67-72 Suburban OE seats
I have a 69 burb with all three row of seats. I need to get new seat covers, some foam for the front seat, some mounting brackets for the seats to the floor, seat belts and the ash trays for the rear 2 rows. Anyone know of a good place to purchase these items?

There are several vendors/ members on here that sell the covers and some have aftermarket seat belts and ash trays. Here is a link for some of them https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/member.php?u=966 https://www.gmcpauls.com/ http://www.classicheartbeat.com/ As far as the floor brackets they are not reproduced that I know of but they come up on the board classifieds for sale from time to time, the same goes for good used seat belts. The 2nd and 3rd row seat brackets are different. In order to place a want to buy ad in the classifieds you will need to become a premium member ($25 per year well spent) Here is a link here if that interests you. https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/payments.php You can buy from the classified without upgrading, you just cant sell or post WTB ads Richard
