67 shortbox 4x4 lift kits.

New to the forum and looking for some more input. I'm looking for a 4inch lift my my 67 c10 4x4 and I have found some places that say they are the same from 67-72, and others that claim they are different. I was under the impression that the front springs on a 67-68 we're wider at the shackles than the perch, which I can confirm on the springs that are currently in the pickup. I was thinking that from 69-72 they were 2.5" from shackle to shackle. Are the front springs what are different on the pickups? Is it the rear springs? Or is there no difference? Would like to only have to order things once so any help would be great.

Re: 67 shortbox 4x4 lift kits.

I have a 68 SB 4x4. It is the rear springs that are different. They are 3" wide vs 2.5" on the 69-72. The springs are also 56" long vs 52" on the 69-72. You can use the 73-87 chevy truck rear springs that are 56" long. You will need to add a 1/4" spacer to each side of the spring bushing and it will work. The front suspension will interchange with the 69-72. You may want to upgrade to a newer steering box if yours is still manual steering. You can get that off any 70s 4x4 chevy truck. Post up some pics so we can see your truck.

Re: 67 shortbox 4x4 lift kits.

Thanks for the info! And yes eventually I plan on doing power steering. So if I order a kit that has new front springs and rear blocks then it should all work. I will try to get pictures uploaded but she's not very nice. Need to find a box for it, someone put a home made ugly flatbed on it.
