Hard top lift
Has anyone made or used a hardtop lift similar to this on a k5?
https://www.topliftpros.com Seems like a cool (high dollar) idea. I sent them an email to see if a k5 model is doable. |

Re: Hard top lift
Our tops would probably break in half using that...

Re: Hard top lift
Damn - I thought weight and the seam might be an issue...
I have a jku (soft top) - ran across this while looking at jeep parts and thought it would be nice if it would work for the k5. I appreciate your input - I’ll let you all know how they reply. |

Re: Hard top lift
I think our tailgates would keep you from getting far enough in, since Jeep tail gates open to the side and ours fold down.
I have seen some post where guys have fabricated an extension and platform to a cherry picker for a similar style lift. A one man lift for our blazers would be awesome! |

Man I agree about the 1 man lift. My blazer is far from done but I know I’m not gonna want to be sliding 2xs on my bed rails when it is painted - for the typical hard top lifts I see for our trucks. |

Re: Hard top lift
I think the only way to do it is have a carport or garage with a hoist. I’ve seen a few guys on here go that route. Mine is up on the rafters in my shop but I just lifted it up on some 2x4s and chains. It’s heavy, but I did it my self.

Re: Hard top lift
My plan is to use a hoist from harbor freight https://www.harborfreight.com/12-ton...ane-60732.html and modify it to lift the top.
What do you guys think? |

Re: Hard top lift
I lost the use of my bobcat for about a month while it was undergoing a rebuild on the axles. After having one since the early 90's I can't imagine my life without one, but I understand not everyone is in the right situation to have one.
