Do I need that jug lookin thing?

Will the engine still run right if I take out the Evaporative Emissions canister? I know there's a line going from the carb to it, then a line coming out and going to the gas tank. But I'm doing a carb/intake swap next week and there's not a place to hook the line to the carb. So can I just pinch off the line to the tank and just take the whole canister out?

I have taken them off anything i even owned. Just put a cap over the steel line and do away with the vaccum lines sometimes on q jets it has a vent line that isnt supposed to be capped i just let it be But it will run without Depending on your local smog You might not be able to get a sticker without it.
