thanks for taking the time to discuss with me

Pic attached as I'm trying to understand the grounding of the Parking Lamp Housing

1. when pulling the wiring diagram I just noticed I have 3 wires from the wiring harness to the connector...not sure about that going to have to check on painless performance wiring kit.

2. the parking lamp housing has the two wires as on the diagram

3. Here's the symptoms.

- When lights off...blinkers and flashers work fine

- when Parking Lights or Headlamps on...no Blinky no flashy in front (rear is fine). This happens no matter what bulb I'm using...LED or normal

- When LED's installed...I get the added benefit of having the left turn signal in dash cluster in the on position

EDIT -

PS: I do notice that the passenger side bulb is dimmer than the driver side

The ground is just the metal socket on the housing which is grounded through the bumper to the frame.

finally took it apart and figured that out. I was making it a lot harder than it really was.

The not blinking when the parking lamps are on has got me stumped

then there's the LED thing. Not giving up yet.

Similar in that when the headlights come on I get no turn signal...but mine happens on both parking lights. The rear flashers and blinker works great in all cases.

Did anyone figure this out? Because I am having this same issue but in my case the rears are messed up to. All four corners flash with lights off but none flash with lights on.

It may be that your contacts within the bulb sockets are reversed. I found that to be the case with my front marker/signal lights. The installer had them such that they were in the turn signal (i.e. bright mode) when the parking lights were on, rather than the dim mode. You can push them out from behind the sockets and rotate them 180 degrees. Solved my problem in minutes.

I'm having this problem too, just on one side at the front where I recently swapped an indicator housing..

Headlights off, flashes fine

Headlights on, doesn't noticeably flash

LED lights back and side, incandescent bulbs in the front indicators, electonic flasher

I have incandescent in the front, LED elsewhere and digital flasher.

Check the brightness of your parking lights, side by side. Then turn them off and check how bright your signal lights are. I'm guessing that the parking light is brighter on the recently swapped side and the signal light is dimmer. It's not that the bulb is not flashing. It just that it's the dim filament that's flashing and it's not visible while the parking lights are on (this can be easily verified by observing the bulb without the lens to see which filament lights under which circumstance). I discovered this while troubleshooting my brand new housings.

If this is your case, it's easy to resolve without cutting and splicing. Simply push the wires into the rear of the housing until the contacts rise high enough in the socket to rotate 180 degrees. Done.

Has anyone figured this out? I have traced all of my grounds replaced all bulbs to correct bulbs and replaced flasher.

Headlights off Turn signal on: All lights inside and out work as should.

Headlights on TS off: outside lights work as should. Turn indicators on dash are dimly lit.

H.L. on & T.S.on: Blinkers are very slow inside and out. T.S. Indicators alternate flashing.

Turn indicators on dash lighting I believe indicates the front parking light housings are not adequately grounded. Connect a jumper cable to a bare metal part of the parking light housing, and the other end to the negative battery terminal. Does the turn indicator on the dash go completely dark? I think it should. Do you have rust or new paint preventing metal to metal contact of the various parts? Do you have ground straps between engine and firewall?

Make sure to check that the the contacts in the bulb socket are actually making contact with the pins on the bulb. I had both of my front turn signals go out at the same time and I went through all the wire connections and grounds to make sure it wasn't a grounding issue.

I figured it out! Mine was doing the same thing. The 2 wires are backwards, and it’s a new harness. What I did was pull the turn signal connector apart and that exposed the 2 blade connectors. I then got 2 jumper wires with alligator clips and affixed them to both ends of the turn signal wires but crossed them (blue to brown instead of blue to blue) and badabing my turn signals work. Before it was getting constant power to the high element and that was overpowering the low element which was in fact blinking, you just couldn’t notice it. Now it’s getting constant power to the low element and blinking on the high element like it’s supposed to. Hope this helps
