Basket Case Parts ID
Help me ID these parts please. I would love to tell you folks that I bought a basket case project, but I actually created it myself. I started taking the truck apart in 1997 and have moved 5 times since then along with a fair amount of life in between. So I have forgotten where the photo'd parts go. Here are the only hints I have...
Part #1 - I think they go to the door, but why do I have an odd number and different sizes. I had 72 super interior. Parts #2 and 3 look like hole plugs or the whitish ones look like light lens'. 4,5,6 & 7 go under the dash some where, I think. A photo of them installed would be great. #8 - Pretty sure this is for the front behind the 72 grill and below the hood latch, but what does it attach to on the bottom right as pictured. This connection would be near the bumper facing forward. #9 - Not sure, but it looks like it was broken at some point near the two hole on the left as pictured and may not all be there. #10 - Under the dash maybe? #11 - I have three of these along the top of the gas tank already installed in the cab, but I don't know why I have 3 more. 12, 13, 14 & 15 - ???? #16 - Chrome spring loaded hole plugs, but where do they go. #17 - Under the dash somewhere? Can anyone feel my pain? All help is appreciated!

Re: Basket Case Parts ID
#7 is a bracket to hold a 71-72 cable gas pedal.
#5 I think is the bracket that holds the dist. valve to the brake master cylinder

#14 looks like the shims for the striker plate on the door jam.

Re: Basket Case Parts ID
Quick Summary and comments (in red)...
#1 goes on the door & window shafts behind the door panels. Confirmed! #2 Not Identified - plastic plugs to cover holes 2 plastic plugs to cover holes, What Holes? Cab was originally Medium Blue. #3 Not Identified - Maybe plastic plugs to cover holes or light lens. #4 Not Identified - support for the brake power booster - I'm not sure about this unless the booster has three brackets, I can only identify 2 (See parts 5 and 6). #5 I think is the bracket that holds the dist. valve to the brake master cylinder. - Confirmed! #6 brake booster brace. - Confirmed! #7 is a bracket to hold a 71-72 cable gas pedal. - Confirmed! #8 vertical center brace behind grill - Confirmed! but what does it attach to on the bottom right as pictured? This connection would be near the bumper facing forward. # 9 exhaust hanger. - Confirmed! #10 Not Identified - under steering column for pedal bump stops? - I'm pretty sure this goes under the dash by the column, but still unsure. #11 fuel tank mount - Confirmed! How many does it take to mount the tank? I have three being used at the tank, but have three extra. #12 and 13 Not Identified - look like aftermarket mirror gaskets - I can safely say that these pieces did not come off any after market mirrors, but I am still at a loss. They are black hard rubber, much like mirror gaskets, but that's all I know. #14 looks like the shims for the striker plate on the door jam. - Confirmed! #15 is for the jack hold down. - Confirmed! #16 - Not Identified - broken license plate bracket bolts for rear sport bumper. These are not broken bolts, but Chrome spring loaded hole plugs, they certainly resemble fake bumper bolt heads. #17 DVR side inner fender support, goes around the steering shaft when it enters the fender - Confirmed! It's a shame digital cameras were not part of my life back then, but this forum is making up for it. Thanks to all and keep the ID's coming! I have not emptied all my boxes so I'm sure there are a few more mysteries yet to come.

Re: Basket Case Parts ID
#2 - plug holes in door well below the latch mechanism. Were not painted originally.
#3 - hard to say from pic but resemble the plugs used to cap the shoulder belt threads inside the cab and up top. #4 - definitely a booster for power brakes, bridges the firewall and booster bracket. #10 - plate that bolts to dash immediately under the steering column. Just line up the holes with the threads in the dash. #'s 12, 13, 16 not OEM to my knowledge. 16 do resemble the license plate bracket to rear bumper bolts.

Re: Basket Case Parts ID
Right on folks, way to wrap up the list Deadhead!
Not that it's very important, but my 72 cab does not have holes inside the cab and up top for shoulder belts. So, #3 is still up in the air, but so much time has pasted since disassembly and who know what the previous owners did. Shoot, some of my parts might be off a washing machine. The pieces that really intrigue me are the mirror-like gaskets, if they ever land home, I'll be sure to post.
