You can remove the cover with a screwdriver and a hammer, ive done it dozens of times, use your best newest screwdriver with a sharp edge, there is a groove on the bottom I think, cant remember the exact location. Start there then move around. Helps to secure the column is a holding fixture nice and tight. Also use the tilt mechanism to get best access.
You can borrow my puller with a deposit and pay shipping both ways....I would need a $150 deposit.... |

Here is one on ebay, I think the only difference is the pressure bolt is shorter, different part number but It might be the same tool.

I took mine off without any effort. I twisted and pulled up it came right off.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |
