Comparing two paint codes - what's in them?

I'm trying to compare two colors, both "Matador Red". One is the 1969 version and one is the 1970 version.

1970 GM Matador Red: PPG 2189
1969 GM Matador Red: PPG 2076 [aka GM Signal Red]

I prefer the 1970 flavor but would actually like to know what goes into the formulas, like is there less blue or black in the 2189? Or more red or yellow in the 2076?

I can't find anything, though, that will tell me much of anything ABOUT the ppg paint codes!

For something like that perhaps it would be best to go direct to the source and contact PPG directly.
