New paint and finally the trim back on...
Well after getting the truck back from paint it ended up taking me about 3-4 weeks to get all the trim and bits put back on.
That included the mirrors, emblems, upper and lower moldings, hubcaps, inner door panels, etc. A few frustrating and difficult fasteners in all of that...as many of you know, lol. With all of that finally done and back on....it was time to license it for the spring/summer season on saturday so I'm now already on my 2nd fill up....having logged a few fun miles on it this past weekend. Luckily most of the original trim was in pretty good, straight and bright shape so I re-used it. I ended up replacing a few pieces that had take some parking lot dings, etc. The paint job itself was a reasonably 'mid-range' paint....looks nice and I'm pretty happy with it. Now, I've already got my first 'minor' scratch in the bed...because this truck is meant to be driven and (lightly) used....as the pics already show, lol. All good Coley

Re: New paint and finally the trim back on...
I love it...it reminds me of the day a bought my truck home, same color and trim, minus copious amounts of rust and three different faded shades of blue. Yes, my 70 titled truck was made up of at least 3 different 72 blue and white trucks worth of sheet metal. All with the 1970 frame hidden underneath.
Very Nice Coley!

Re: New paint and finally the trim back on...
Thanks for the positive feedback guys....much appreciated.
The paint is not perfect but that level of 'show' paint job would have run another $3k-$5k or more and would have entailed pulling the box off etc, etc....you guys know the drill....which was not in the budget this year....lol. It does fall in line tho' with the rolling restoration philosophy that I am big fan of. I had posted some pics of it just out of paint (no trim) and even the inner box, which I had hand sanded out myself prior to a respray turned out nicely. Here are a few pics of some of the rest of the truck. The seat is now getting close to needing a new cover....certainly on the bottom drivers side but that will probably be next year. I added a factory tach with vacuum a few years ago as well as a new bezel which adds a nice touch to the interior for me. The engine is the original 350, rebuilt at some point prior to my ownership....maybe back in the 90's? (or 80's?)..lol. I detailed it a couple of years ago and will be giving it another re-detailing in a few weeks as time allows. It runs absolutely great, very reliable but it is going to need a freshen up in a year or two....unless I swap it out for a 400 sbc....detailed to look like the original 350...but a ways to go on that plan. All good Coley
