Exhaust Manifolds

I am in the middle of putting a 350 in my 65 C30 and ran into a problem with my exhaust. I had a good set of manifolds and exhaust I was going to use but it wont clear the clutch linkage. Does anyone have a picture of the manifolds our trucks originally came with? Im not going to do headers now and I need to clear the clutch linkage. I found a set for sale close to me but they are angled back and I dont know if it will clear. The set I put on my 64 both dumped straight down. I would appreciate it if anyone can post drivers side pictures especially if you are running factory clutch linkage.

Re: Exhaust Manifolds

The top manifold is the style that came in the '63-'66 trucks. The angled one is a '67-'72 style. I 'think' it will work in a '63-'66 with a manual trans.

Re: Exhaust Manifolds

I found a set of shorty headers on craigslist for cheap. The guy I bought them from said he got them from Jegs. I used the leftover pipes from the truck (73 GMC) that I parted out.

How have they been working for you?
I have a set of those still in the box.
I figured once my current pipes rust I'll swap out everything.

Re: Exhaust Manifolds

I use the factory rams horn manifolds that dump straight down on both LH and RH on my 64 C10. Doesn't come anywhere close to the clutch linkage.

Re: Exhaust Manifolds

They’re fine so far. I probably only put 200 miles on the truck last year. I think I’ve finally got it where I can just jump in and drive but of course now I can’t go anywhere so I can’t enjoy the nice weather we’ve been having.
