Got a line on one gave it a good look over ..pretty good shape. How rare is it? Worth? What in particular should I look for. Cab corners one has a botched repair other side appears ok, floor appears ok as well.

Hard to place a value on the truck with limited info. You seem to know some things to look for. The things I look at first is does the title match the cab and frame vin numbers? Then I start to look at the windshield area for rust. Inside and out. Crawl under the truck and look for pinch marks, bent frame. Is it important to you that it is rare? I know rust free isn’t common. If you can post a picture we can give you an opinion. I’ll go out on a limb and say any running truck is worth a $1000. Doesn’t mean that I would buy it.

How about a few pictures? Can't estimate value given your description.
Here is AZ that's a rare truck and worthy of saving. Get some more details and a few pictures. |

Re: 1972 GMC short stepside with 4 speed...how rare
The question about 'rarity' is always and odd one with these trucks.
There were hundreds and hundreds of thousands made...so the odds of rarity playing a 'value' angle is very small. As for price?...depends on condition of the body and it sounds like this one has a few issues. What about model? (base model? sierra? or?)...drivertrain and options? (V8, auto?....6 cylinder standard?). At a quick glance, prices on a '72 short step without more information could range from $2500 to $7500. Hopefully that helps a little....but if you give us more info we can tighten that information up a little! Welcome to the site. Coley

Yeah? No. Hate to give value with just pictures, and you have zero.
