You're right, it is backwards. After looking at it again, I can see the carb bowl is on the back side of the carb.

Legend is correct. I've actually been to, and had a tour of that property and the chicken barns. . My cousin knows they guy, and I know where this property is. There are several mid to late 1950's trucks inside the chicken houses... Those were what I was interested in... I've wanted a Cameo since I was a kid, and considered building one...

My cousin (who's name is also Larry, by the way) took me there. I looked at some rusty 67-72 vintage trucks, and decided to pass on all of them. This guy buys and sells, and likely thought you were trying to steal something rather than purchase. I wound up buying my truck to build in Alabama rather than Arkansas.

I don't know if I could arrange an introduction or not, but this place is across the mountain from where my parents lived in retirement. This is assuming I've got the right place. But seriously, in NW Arkansas, how many chicken houses full of trucks can there possible be? Maybe I'm wrong. Send me a PM if you want, and I'll contact my cousin and try to get you in.

There weren't any good deals when I was there, but he likely thought I could afford to spend (I could, just wasn't willing).

There are lots of good places in Arkansas. You likely know more of them than I do. There are also a couple of nice places closer to Conway with several trucks. Again, I'm sure you know more about them than I do.

He let the trucks I was talking about sit out in front of the old house for years until the trees grew around them. One of them was a red and white Cheyenne. I always wondered if he had nice trucks in the chicken houses why he wouldn't put that one in the dry.

My daughter lives at Conway. Sunday I was on my way home and I took the backroads. I spotted a 72, barn door Suburban in the bushes, so I stopped. Normal story, It's my son's, he's going to get it running. I asked about the long bed sitting beside it and it was dedicated to a project.

I started to walk back toward my truck and the guys says "Don't you want to see the rest of it?" He had several trucks and parts in the woods up the hill and all of it was for sale. He is 71 and recovering from prostate surgery and clearing the salvage out. He had a couple of nice 72 doors I bought for $100. I'm going back with a trailer.

PM sent with the "secret" location of the trucks I'm talking about. Not on any actual highway that I know of, although there is a paved road that ends. Guess there is more than 1 chicken barn full of trucks in Arkansas.

Shoot! Way back when I was in high school I dropped in one Saturday morning to see a bud. He's over in the chicken house I think, said his mom. I wandered over there and inside there he was messing with a model A roadster basket case. There were two coupes in there as well. Hidden in plain sight I guess you could say. That chicken house was right next to the highway. That dog had never said a word about having those. Some friend he was...

But as my dad told me " if you don't want it told, don't tell it".

Hmmm.... all them Arkansaw chicken houses what ain't got no chickens no more an' theys plum filt with old trucks now. Just my kind of vacation I'm thinkin'.

I have found doors that looked just like those, color and all. The building had fallen down on the cars and parts. Figure that. The cars and parts were put into the building to preserve them in sheltered storage. Must have been nice to be storing them inside. Time passes, the building deteriorates, the owner gets older, roof starts leaking, doesn't get noticed or fixed, building deteriorates, owner gets older, building falls down on what was to be protected. I have seen quite a bit of this happen. Everything from Model Ts to '61 Coupe Deville.

Timbo who?

My dad bought his '40 Ford out of a group of cars that were stored in a chicken house or similar building after the roof had caved in. One of the beams fell down onto the right side of the roof above the door. Took a lot of finessing to get that back up. But I guess it beat having the car sit out in the weather all those years.
