Anyone of you lifted guys running longer brake hoses????????

Going to lift 6" and wanted to get longer braided stainless hoses. Went to an off road forum and two different people recommended 10" longer hoses for a 6" lift. I was wondering if anyone in here had longer brake hoses on their lifted pickup and if so how much longer than stock.

I have a 4" lift and am running those lines you can get from Napa, I believe they were for a c2500 pickup or something, their plenty long for my 4" lift and will have room left even with the front flexed all the way out with no sway-bar. Lots of people say that rubber lines are better also because you can see the condition of them and some other things.

But anyway, 10" longer sounds like a good length and should allow for flex, but you may have to tie them back with some springs or something to keep them off the tires, I basically just zip-tied a spring to the brake line and attached the other end to the bracket where the line comes through.

just saw your post on CK5. the reason you need longer brake lines is well when you flex your rig you wont snap your lines of the frame. but if your not offroading then you should be fine with the 6" extened lines. I have 6" extened stainless lines on my sub but I only have a 4" lift and there plenty long for me.

Yep, I'm running 10" longer stainless braided hoses for my 8" lift.

stainless ones sound nice unfortunately not in my budget so what im doing is redoing all the hard lines anyway so just re-bracketing and routing slightly different.the rear came in on the side and i want in the middle and rear was 2 piece lines and i want to be one piece. i went up to the auto parts store today and they turned me loose with their book and i noticed it tells the size on the ends and how long it is for every brake hose they carry so im just getting whatever size i want basically found some as long as 30 inches in their book and lots to choose from but dependant on which i decide on after i route hard lines it may have to be ordered.

I was thinking, does the rear brake hose need to be as long as the front? Its in the center so if you have one side of the axle high and the other low it really shouldn't matter much should it? I can see how you would want them a bit longer up front since there is a hose on each side.

yeah the front definitely most important but on my truck the back line came in at the passenger side not in the center. it will be in the center when done, i figure im going to make the back hose around 20" im not on the front ones yet, i know my kit came with bracket extensions but i think im going to try to get lines like 6" longer than factory for the front instead.

Im running Pro-Comp extended stainless steel hoses. I have a 4" lift, There real nice.
