Question Hello everyone..new guy here.i have a few questions 72c10

Ok so I have this jalopy 1972 c10 long bed...here are the questions I have about it
1) Is it worth the time and money to fix
2) This truck has factory rear leafsprings..does that offer a better ride then coils?
3) this truck has a rotted wood bed but I got 2 parts trucks with this and one has a metal bed should I swap beds or redo the wood?(which is more desired)
4) should I look for a shortbed project instead?

That's pretty much it for now and referring to question #1

Id say its in fair/decent shape
The usual cab corners, rockers are roached(atleast the drip rail, roof is solid)
Info:
1972
Chevy c10
Longbed fleetside
Raunchy puke green I think gm calls it olive green & white pained pinstripe and top
Has original 350 (to my knowledge)
4spd manual(with low)

P.s since ive owned it ive put the wheels on it that I jacked off my chevelle

a bad to the bone 68 impala steering wheel with functioning horn

bucket seats from a 94 cavaliers(3 bolts match perfect only need to drill 1hole if you want the 4th bolt
...I didn't)

Billet grill ,grill bezel,headlights& bevels

71 doors(personally like the metal over the factory plastic)

Also switched it from points to hei

Then the mechanical stuff to make it road worthy tune-up,service (brake shoes, calipers, booster, master cylinder ,ect)

I still have all the original stuff ive taken off btw...I kind of went ham if I liked it...I did it...if not I replaced it with something i did

Dont be scared to tell if its a lemon....I only put a alternator in a Buick...old guy told me to take
all 3 but this one I was able to drive home and only one with a title
I will try to upload some pictures soon

Thanks in advance guys

Re: Hello everyone..new guy here.i have a few questions 72c10

Welcome!
1) Unfortunately, I don't know much about the value of these trucks in the states, but it probably depends on which direction you intend to take it (using it for a normal truck, building it up as a custom, or making it show quality)
2) I have coils, and they definitely have an awesome, soft ride. Body roll is pretty bad around corners, so it depends on if you prefer a softer or harder ride (each has their pros and cons)
3) In my opinion, swap for the metal bed. It's just more practical, and I have not heard of any extra value due to having a wooden bed.
4) I do know that the short wheel base is far more popular in the states, but that also means they cost more. And you already have this truck, so I would say do this one and only swap it for a swb if you find one for cheap.

That sticker on the glove box is the option list your truck was equipped with from the factory, as far as "what's the truck worth", I think that's at each person's own decision. Money wise most likely not much unless you part it out.. but if you like the truck and enjoy working/building on it then it could be "priceless"!! Just my 2 cents
