I have a '51 Spartanette (travel trailer) that was loaded with those. I filled a whole trash can just with 'Daubber nests (along with mouse poop, dead rodents and dead bugs). Dumped them out in the back pasture where they can return to the earth.

Your situation reminds me of the Caddie legends of bottles suspended in the rear fenders. If the rattle of that little 'Daubber nest bothers you, my truck would likely drive you right around the twist! It's a regular percussion symphony going down the road!

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

I got my horns working off the steering wheel for the first time in 18 years. When I first got the truck it had a siren with a button under the dash. I installed a real horn and got a new steering wheel around 15 years ago. The wiring in the wheel that they sent me with the wheel did not work with the wheel. So I have been using the button under the dash until this weekend when I modified the wiring from another vehicle to fit the wheel.

I put the rear bumper on the other day, I brought Clyde home from the shop the other day, replaced booster/master, panhard bar and some front end maintenance, He is getting closer! Only need to redo the grill and then the interior!

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

After sitting outside for 20 years I moved my 1966 Chevy fleetside into my garage. Will start rebuilding her. Original 3sp, 250 I6. Will get a new auto trans with power steering and disc brakes, thanks to CaptainFab and his awesome brackets. Good way to start New Year. Happy New Year to everyone!!!

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Yes I am keeping the 250. Right now it is stuck. Haven't opened it up yet. I did buy an extra one a while back in case the original is toast. Worked o n getting the seat out today. Did not find anything under the seat such as money. LOL. Truck shows 87000 miles and I think it is right since I knew the second owner. I am the third owner.

Great!
Nothing wrong with V8 swaps but I'm always happy to see someone keeping a 6 in there truck.
Way to many people junk them.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Started the floor and rockers. Fyi the after market stamped floor slid right in . Down side is cost . Upside is it took about an hour and half. Had about 10 hours in blasting though the enamel was very stubborn!!!

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Worked on a toolbox/cooler for the bed of my truck.
Made it out of pallets and recycled materials. Still have to make the hinges, install latch(old door knob and latch with skeleton key) and cut the plexiglass and drain for the cooler side.
Here is a video of wood being "treated"

Technically, "I" did not do anything, but R & B radio completed my upgrade and shipping it back, do I can finally install some sound. they upgraded it from just AM to AM/FM/iPod/Bluetooth ready. I'll put on the correct knobs when I get her in the truck.

I painted my dash and most of the interior, installed the new stereo. Hope to finish the painting this weekend and get started on the sound deadener.

No the truck is black. I plan on making the interior like new and leaving the patina more or less in place. Fixing the rust and hitting it with satin black.

Thanks for the pics. If I had a patina truck I would do the same thing. That dash color would make an interesting exterior.
