is pittman arm bolt welded??
Does the pittman arm bolt that connects the pittman arm to the steering box has a small weld on it to keep it in place?? It looks like it does. I am going to try and break it loose tomorrow, but only have a 1 1/4" wrench as the max size. Does anybody know what size it is and how hard it is to remove??

Should not be spotted Careful when useing the wrech at that angle can slip off and oops there goes what ever skin hits metal. good luck and dont give up on these Trucks there worth every busted knuckle

what year truck is it? if its a '88-current 4x4 you will need to first remove nut, then the top & front box mounting bolts to let box swing down. then use cut-off wheel to make a slice all the way through arm but not into shaft. take air hammer ot chisel to slit to spread arm & it should fall right off. there is no room for puller
I do this about twicw a month with all this type trucks in area. I think they give you one of these when you graduate high school. haha

it was on an '89 suburban 2wd. I was able to bang on a 1 1/4" wrench and get the nut off, then used a puller.
