Trac Bar or panhard bar for Rear drop
Im here again looking for suggestion. I have a 5 in rear coil drop. I'm going to replace the original panhard bar due to reading that I need to recenter the rear end. What would you'll suggest an adjustable 24" panhard bar or go with the long trac bar(one that bolts to the frame rail). Not sure if important but the truck has a LS 6.0. Engine. Appreciate any suggestions

Re: Trac Bar or panhard bar for Rear drop
There's a ton of options out there depending on what your budget is and what your long term goals are suspension wise. If you're not looking convert over to coilovers and keep what you have or are on a budget.

Re: Trac Bar or panhard bar for Rear drop
Both of the options you listed will work but longer is better as it will result in less side to side movement of the axle as the suspension travels. Do a search of the suspension thread for a more detailed explanation.

Re: Trac Bar or panhard bar for Rear drop
One other thing that may or may not apply to you. A panhard bar in the stock location might not clear an aftermarket diff cover if it is deeper. I bought an adjustable one that fit on the stock diff bolt, would not clear the cover. I ended up getting one from CPP that bolts to the U-bolts and the stock frame mount on the opposite side frame. Like HO455 said longer bar is better.

Re: Trac Bar or panhard bar for Rear drop
for a five inch drop youll definatly want to go with a longer trac bar. I ordered mine from ECE. very nice and 2 different mount locations

Re: Trac Bar or panhard bar for Rear drop
I second the long ece bar.
Could be just me, but the rear end felt more stable after the install too.
