Did GM make a '65 series 30 4x4 step side?
The owner of this truck for sale knows very little about it and I'm going by a description over the phone and a little quizzing by me. I know it's a 65 by the placement of the side emblems and the owner tells me they are "30" on both sides. Stepside bed, eight bolt wheels, Single wheel rear axle, locking front hubs. Knowing the 30 series Stepside trucks have a 9 foot bed, i've seen this configuration in 2 Wheel Dr., did Chevrolet make a 4 Wheel Dr. version? This must be one rare bird yes?

C30 stepside are the only ones that would get a 9’ bed
Ask for the VIN! Look it up on LMC front page

Factory only did K10/20 in this era, anything bigger got sent away to napco like factorystock said. Any pics of this thing? Yes, it is rare, not Chevrolet rare, but conversion truck rare - but still rare! Here's a 65 C30 napco conversion.

Was the shifter for the transfercase not on the passenger side for Napco? Drivers side for Chevrolet?

Correct, VIN won't be a K VIN if it's a 1 ton 9' stepside 4x4, it will still have the original C VIN. I'd look closely at the axles and see if it still has its napco parts.
