Best Wire Harness - 2019
I wanted to start a new thread on this. There are so many new wiring harnesses out there now that seem to be with good support, quality, and several different style kits from each vendor now.
What do you recommend for a whole truck wire harness? I'm doing an LS swap as well and building my own stand-alone engine harness but plan to integrate the few extra wires into the truck harness. I would really like to have a bulkhead connector that fits the existing firewall location if that is possible. Gonna be drive by wire with cruise control. Going to have dual electric fans. Vintage Air. Also plan to have several extra circuits for misc things like power inverter, seat heaters, etc. Thanks in advance! .

Re: Best Wire Harness - 2019
I used American Auto-wire with my LS swap, Holley efi, electric fans, vintage air. Couldn't have been happier with the entire harness. I have used painless before and ill never do another after using AAW. Buy the classic update kit and get yourself a set of crimpers off of amazon.
I used AAW 510089 get it and don't look back. Note, you will probably want to go with a lower gauge alternator wire than what is supplied in the AAW kit. |

Re: Best Wire Harness - 2019
Consensus seems to be for the American Auto Wire Classic Update harness. That’s what we have for my kid’s Jimmy project. If you are running a 10si alternator and HEI that’s what I would do. For a pure stock restoration get a repro from somebody like M&H.

Re: Best Wire Harness - 2019
I'm thinking the brothers AAW kit is a universal kit maybe but can't tell... I am going to call them I guess. I would think they would be selling the 67-72 specific kit since that is the section I am looking at on brothers. Plus its like $250 cheaper...

The brothers kit is universal and wont have the specific template or mounting for the stock fuse box location.
