Factory tank
Hi all,
I believe this is the factory installed tank on my burb but it looks like it has a recess for a spare tire mount. Can anyone confirm this tank is factory? Capacity? Thanks in advance.

Re: Factory tank
It does look smaller.
Here is mine, which has been replaced with an OE style tank for the burb.

Re: Factory tank
Does your SPID say anything about a spare tire mount? I can grab some measurements off my original tomorrow (I will be under there anyway.) if you want.

Re: Factory tank
I’ll check on the spid today. After reading the overhaul manual, it claims the blazer tank has recess for spare tire but says it only uses one strap. Mine has two but the second strap is right in the edge. HO455 if you have a chance I puke appreciate.

Re: Factory tank
Rough measurements. 26 1/2" wide, 16" front to back, 11" deep.
Straps are center line to center line 7 1/2" apart. The front edge of the front strap is 3 1/2" from the front of the tank. The back edge of the back strap is 4" from the back of the tank. 6 1/2" of the tank hangs below the frame. The photos may only add confusion but here they are anyway. I hope this helps as I really like it when someone pukes appreciate.

Re: Factory tank
My 68 GMC 2WD 4speed 292 6 cylinder Suburban had a tank like that with the recess for a spare tire. Not sure if it was original or not but it was a low mileage truck.
