Tail light wiring mod
I saw a post by a guy that used stainless tubing to run his wires from his tail lights. Despite numerous searches I can not find it. Any help would be appreciated

Re: Tail light wiring mod
That's a good method also but I think the one jemezcrusher is referring to is actually stainless steel tubing. I remember the post also but cannot remember who did it. Clay

Re: Tail light wiring mod
I have also seen guys use nylon air brake tubing and compression fittings for a weather proof and neat look. heavy though compared to simple wiring and loom.

Re: Tail light wiring mod
Here's one I recently made for my '49
I closed out the hole on the bracket where the wire went through and welded on a -6 AN fitting. I took the rubber wire seal out of the tail light and make a 3/16" rubber gasket that goes between the bracket and the light to make sure it sealed out water Here's some detail of the bracket. The nut and the tube are stainless and I'll polish those up some. The nuts on the tail light will get replaced with some polished stainless acorn nuts to clean it up a bit The stainless tube takes some doing to bend it. I have a cast metal tube bender, but I borrowed this Parker bender to get a little more leverage |

Re: Tail light wiring mod
Guys used to use the bendable chrome or stainless tubing for under bathroom sinks from the plumbing supply for that. I'm talking tubing and not hose.

Re: Tail light wiring mod
It's held against inside frame rail with tension of the wire.
