Bed Mat Search (help)
Kind of frustrating search. I looked through old posts and Summit Racing had these mats in 2017 but now I don't see them on their site. If anyone recently (and I mean within the past few months) purchased a rubber bed mat for a 67-72 fleetside SWB that fits (or if for LWB, that can be cut like the Summit product to fit a SWB), please chime in and send me a link, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Martin

Re: Bed Mat Search (help)
I have a summit mat in my long bed. It is just down the middle, not on the sides and doesn't curve around the wheel wells.

Re: Bed Mat Search (help)
You want one that is at least 3/8" thick for durability. Had a guy at work years ago that bought one of those cheap, thin, flimsy mats and when a 18 wheeler blew by him in the opposite direction it blew the mat clean out of his truck.

Re: Bed Mat Search (help)
Go to your local feed store and pickup a horse stall mat and cut to fit. Mats are available in 5/8” or 3/4” . I ended up using them and it looks and works awesome.

Re: Bed Mat Search (help)
X2 on the horse stall mat, very heavy duty,if you accidentally drop something in the bed of your truck, like when your buddy is helping load a engine with a tractor and decided to use the cheap bolts to hold the chain on,and guess what,Snap, engine dropped about 2 feet, thought there will be a good sized dent in the bed, pulled out the mat,and not even a mark, so I swear by these mats

Re: Bed Mat Search (help)
I've wondered about getting a rubber pad, but i have a question to those that have them. Are you not worried about water between it and either the wood or metal bed, causing rust or wood warpage? I recently purchased a '67 lwb with an excellant wood bed in it. The orig owner had put a camper shell on it and it stayed that way up until 5 years ago when the guy i bought it from took it off. I'm only the 3rd owner. I've also kicked around getting a non snap type tonneau cover of some sort. I'd like to lean towards the rubber pad though.
Thanks, Tim
