Boyd Coddington Corvette rims
Today I was digging through a storage place I have looking for stuff I could use on my Willy's, and Camaro projects.
I ran across my Boyd Coddington rims I got with a wrecked 92 Corvette I bought for the motor. The fronts are 17x9 with 275/45/r17 tires, and the rears are 17x10 with 315/35/r17's. So besides the obvious Corvette offset. Can you make these for a C10 with out cutting the fenders aka early NASCAR style? Or are the rims to small to fit over the A-arm? I want to build another muscle truck, and a actually keep it this time. |

Re: Boyd Coddington Corvette rims
not the same bolt pattern so you'll have to overcome that issue first

Re: Boyd Coddington Corvette rims
I remember when those came out someone made adapters so that you could use them on other stuff.

Re: Boyd Coddington Corvette rims
These rims are steel hoops with billet centers, and all triple chrome plated. If I got a gmt-400, and dropped these babies on. It would be a cover truck from 88-92. To give you a idea of how dated they are.
I will have to use something like 2-2.5 inch adapters to even begin to make them work. After I saw them. I began to wonder if anyone has put this wide a rim under a truck with out fender mods. |

The rims. The lips got a bent in a spin out accident which is why I got the whole Vette for the engine. I plan to have the straightened, and powder coated for some project.

Re: Boyd Coddington Corvette rims
Those are all aluminum wheels. Billet aluminum center with cast outer. I use to sell A LOT of those back in the Super Shop days. You’ll certainly be able to fit them with the proper adapters, Tire size etc. if you don’t have the centers, you probably won’t ever find more.

They have steel hoops. On the back pair the chrome is cracked to the steel, and my magnet sticks to them nicely. When I pulled the tires off for my Camaro project I was shocked to find steel hoops. As all my limited experience with Boyd's is they were all aluminum. Either the whole rim 1 billet piece, or aluminum center with aluminum hoop. |
