Re: Smittys Autocross truck with IRS
We are really excited to be a part of this build. We have been in testing and development of IRS systems for about four years, and last month we displayed our first IRS chassis in Columbus at the GoodGuys PPG nats. Lots of great comments and enthusiasm about the future of P/U performance.
Since moving to Tn. our chassis program has made big steps forward in both strength and performance. In May at the C10 Nats (Ft.Worth Tx.) I had a chance to drive Bill Holt's Square body on the AX track. It is built on a NLE Pro-Tech chassis and has had a little tuning. It had more grip than I could have imagined. I believe that with ten laps or so I could have outrun the HellBoy in Bill's truck. Our Pro-Tech chassis are that good. - BTW, with a front spring change and some Delron bushings, Bill says it is faster now! The new IRS program steps these chassis up another level. The corner entry and exit will be incredible. And having tunable roll steer and rear toe will take P/U performance to new highs. Chris and the crew at Smitty's is the perfect launch point for this chassis platform. They will have this done and driving in no time. The white C10 was previously freshened up at Smitty's a few years ago and that will make the build much easier. Chris says it will be a "simple, clean driver" But if you know their work, it will be a little cooler than average. I can answer questions about the chassis and suspension, Chris will post up and answer build questions. Thanks for the interest.

Re: Smittys Autocross truck with IRS
This is transpiring very quickly. Looks like a perfect auto cross platform and starting with a very clean truck. The chassis looks amazing as well. Gonna be fun!

Re: Smittys Autocross truck with IRS
Wow, so much detail and methodical attention being put into this amazing frame and suspension. It will be a shame to cover it up with a body.
looking forward to seeing where this goes....
