Anyone know what to use for this?

The stock oil pressure sensor in my truck is made for a 6 cylinder. As you can see, it is too small for the regular sbc/350 port, the whole thing can fit inside the port.

What would you use to adapt this? How do I measure the threads on the end of the nipple since it's so short?

You're missing a brass fitting which should even have been on the 6cyl

The fitting pictured is a compression fitting, you need the female brass transition fitting to reg pipe thread into the block....it's about 1 1/4" long.

The 6 cylinder is long gone. Where can I get that fitting?

Napa will have it. See link. I recommend taking the old one with you to make sure you get the correct size for the tubing and be sure to check the thread size (NPT) of the block.
You will have to remove the old fitting from the tubing, as the old compression ferrule won't seal with the new fitting. There are literally a dozen of size combinations.
To do this it is important not to distort the tubing. Use a tubing cutter to achieve this. You may have to remove a burr from the inside of the tubing after you cut it. Use an Exacto knife or a deburring tool if you have one. There are videos on how to install the fitting. The important part is to only snug the nut that tightens the ferrule. Then check it for leaks if it leaks then tighten it up a 1/4 turn more and check it. Too tight and you will block the tube or split it and then its start over with a replacement ferrule.

Can't recommend these kits highly enough. I bought two to keep one on hand - I replaced the plastic line the PO put in for an aftermarket gauge. This kit made it factory perfect!

Any good hardware store will have the fittings. A nipple with a union on one end screw the nipple into the block then you screw the tube fitting you have into the union.
