Dual exhaust
Has anyone used a dual kit from LMC on a 67-72. I wonder how it fits. It looks like a pretty good set but I seem to have trouble with most stuff I get from them. I am close to their store so I can easily return something if necessary.
It is mandrel bent & comes with Turbo or glass pack mufflers. The tail pipe hangers don't look impressive. George |

Re: Dual exhaust
I think I bought my dual kit from them for my 69 stepside. It's got nice bends and came with plenty of hardware. It beat what I had but honestly I think I would be happier with a custom muff shop install. The LMC head and intermediate pipes hang down below the frame and I just hate the look. I think a muff shop can tuck them up tighter for a cleaner look. I could cut and weld mine but it wouldn't be all that nice.
It's nothing against LMC. They just sell the kit. If I'm not mistaken the kit is made by Hearthrob. IRC

Re: Dual exhaust
The LMC kit is made by Heartthrob. I bought mine here https://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.co...Exhaust-System for less with free shipping and the 20% discount. I have a 3/4 ton with the Eaton rear, and the track bar interfered with the right rear pipe. I read on some seller's website that there had been fit problems with the 3/4 tons. I called Heartthrob. They asked for a pattern of what I needed and custom bent a pipe at absolutely no charge. That's great service. The "stock" mufflers (Maremont if I recall correctly) are quite loud but not offensive. I used band clamps. Overall pretty high quality for the money.
Here are a few pictures. |

Re: Dual exhaust
Do you have a side shot showing how low the pipes hang through the center section? I do not.

Re: Dual exhaust
These are the best I can find. Realize that the shot of the cab and chassis on the rollback is almost looking up at it. The system is at least as snug to the frame as the original was. I don't notice at all when viewed at a normal standing angle, and I'm short.
