76 Silverado coming home

Just bought this little 76 long bed yesterday. Real nice and solid original, only spot of rust is on the passenger side inner fender under the battery. Cab, fenders, bed are all rock solid. Bone stock original equipment on this pickup, 350/350, tilt, cruise, ac, ps, pb. Runs good, needs some carb work from sitting but overall nice runner. Driver front fender, bumper, and lower front valance piece are new and repainted after someone backed into the front drive side of the bumper and pushed it into the fender. Also has the center light green clear coated at one point in its life and it’s starting to peel. Needs a bath and some cutting compound to bring the paint back to life, figured I’d share with you guys

Love the interior. You’ll have to get some new seat hinge garnishes, the left side is damaged and the right side is missing. Dye them to match your seat

Nice looking truck. Looks like a 77' or 78' grill.

Re: 76 Silverado coming home

Also haven’t been able to tel much difference in the 76 grill to the 77 or 78. Could’ve been changed when they repaired the front fender, bumper, and head light trim

Re: 76 Silverado coming home

The beds had gas caps on the outside and I think around 78 they went with gas doors

Re: 76 Silverado coming home

Oh okay. My 74 has the exposed gas cap, but it’s got a plate behind the hole in the bed because the bed tilts. Only my third square body and sold the second one right after I got it so I’m learning what changes were made over the years of these. Still a pretty nice old pick up though. Any idea what the difference in the grille is though? Or is it the correct one?
