Trouble with hub being long enough to engage

Have a 84 GMC k20 with a 75 Dana 44 in front, rotors looked horrible so changed whole wheel hub and rotor from the original external hub to internal setup had laying around. The locking hub on passenger side doesn't seem to move far enough in internally to engage axle shaft. Locking hubs from driver and passenger move same distance and even swappped them. Anyone had this problem?

Re: Trouble with hub being long enough to engage

I am pretty sure that the internal splined wheel hubs require the use of the longer spindle and stub shaft that went along with the internal hub setup. You sure you have the internal hub stub shaft in with it?
