CPP rear disc question
Is this the normal surface area coverage for rear brakes? Seems awfully small surface coverage.

Looks right.
Rear brakes only do 30% of the braking so no huge Calipers are needed. |

Definitely not getting full pad contact. How many miles have you driven it? The pads don’t always make even contact right out of the box, but should wear in within a couple of miles.
It looks like the bracket/caliper is a bit too far out (or maybe crooked) but I’m not familiar that particular setup.

I agree, looks like the pad is not making full contact. Do you have any miles on this setup?

Is the brake pad extending past the rotor any? The picture makes it look that way, but that might not be the case.

Apparently I can't upload pictures now.
However, only the top section of the brakes are touching and the pads do not extend past the rotor. So like previously suggested, the brakes may just have to be "worn in" more. |

What does the contact pattern look like on the back side? Brakes should fit when installed, not have to "wear in" to get full contact. You should contact CPP.

If you have 100% brake pad contact on your rotor then it is setup as it should be. Putting some miles on it will show you the wear pattern and you will be able to better determine at that time. My wife's Subaru has small rotors and pads such as yours on the rear, but the front is much beefier, as I suspect your truck is as well. What do you mean by only the top section of the brakes are touching?

This is accurate, the Brake pads should sit parallel to the rotor. Are you stating that the brake pad is only touching the rotor in the area in red below, hence the original pattern we are seeing. It appears based on what you are saying the brake pad is only engaging the rotor 1/4 of the way, and it should have a full wear pattern, the width of the brake pad, on your rotor. Did your brake conversion kit come with any shims for behind the mounting bracket?

The photo in frame #15 looks like the inside brake pad is very small. It should be the same size as the out side pad. You might have the wrong set of pads.

Perhaps. I've verify but as you can see in the next to last photo, the coverage area of the inside pad is nearly the entire rotor surface.
