Best Ignition Switch Source

I bought a repop ignition switch (my original fell apart) from The Filling Station for my 1950 3100

Put a new lock in it and it would not turn. Put my old lock cylinder in it and you have to use a pair of pliers to get it to move from off to on and vice versa.

I don’t know if they are all junk or if I just need to find another vendor or if the one I have is just out of spec and does not work.

Now I can’t get my old lock cylinder out but is probably just hanging up on something

Anyone know of a good supplier for these?

Re: Best Ignition Switch Source

Hard call on that. you used to be able to walk into NAPA and get high quality switches without a problem but even theirs can be a bit suspect at time now.

I'm not a big fan of used electrical items off Ebay as most of the time someone scavenged that stuff off a truck that had been sitting for years on end in field or wrecking yard.

Old stock oem or name brand in the original box is cool though. I've found on a lot of parts that if you get the correct part number you can search that part number on Ebay and find old stock parts that someone has that they bought in a bulk buy from a warehouse. It won't usually have the application just "ignition switch part number _______ I've done that for a lot of parts.
