CA DMV - No Title Question
I have an opportunity to pick up a truck from a coworkers Grandparents. The problem is: the Grandpa recently passed away and grandma doesn’t know where the keys and title are. I’m heading over there tomorrow to see if by chance there is a registration card in the glovebox to see if Grandma’s name is on the title also. If so, no problem- I can just have her sign the appropriate DMV form. Just curious if anyone has any experience transferring ownership of a truck without a title. I know the truck is still in the system with back-fees too.
I’m getting a good deal on it but grandmas main concern is that the buyer gets it out of their name so I want to be able to follow though on that.

You will need to just go talk to your local DMV. Every time this comes up on here it turns into a big argument so I am just going to close the thread now.... Sorry. Ask grandma to look in the safe deposit box if they have one. LockDoc Moderator
