New project 1970 OG

I'm lucky to work on some cool stuff.

This is an OG 1970 CST with AC and it had (had) the overload springs on the trailing arms. I gotta tell you, an OG never apart truck, those bolts are stuck! I haven't had to use so much heat in my life to get them loose.

The plan is:
Front: 2 1/2" drop CPP disc brake spindles with a sway bar and updated master and combo valve.
Rear: It will be 3" springs and adjustable panhard bar of course.

Other odds and ends to make it reliable of course. Wants to keep OG P01 hubcaps so we had to fins a set of 4x4 6-lug wheels. Those were not cheap.

Anyways, Ill try and post progress as it comes.

Re: New project 1970 OG

A friend of mine has the identical twin to the truck here in Colorado. Almost thought it was the same one
Educate me : what does OG stand for? Is it old guy?

All original (OG). Besides upkeep, hasn't been apart much.

Re: New project 1970 OG

OG means original gangster but it has become a term to mean original in general

I have never understood the OG thing either. It doesn't relate to anything about these trucks. Just another dumb acronym.......

I'm done, rant over..

Truck looks good. It will make someone a nice ride. Keep us posted on the progress.....

Re: New project 1970 OG

4x4 rims are dirt cheap where I live. I saw a set the other day for $100.

I represent that remark
I got a feeling since I'd never heard it before it came from the Rapping Generation, I could be totally in left field on my hunch though.
