Gen 3 5.3 LS swap oil pan question ?

swapping a 5.3 truck based engine into my 72 c10, installed the adapters and mounts and the front of the oil pan is resting on the factory engine crossmember. and the rear is 2 inches below the crossmember (which is what i was anticipating) but the front has me puzzled.

engine is bolted to the mounts/stands
