Angry alignment?

If anyone might have any suggestions it would be great. I have a 69 c10 2wd that's been lowered 4/4. Since I have begun to rebuild the front suspension I have discovered the previous owner replaced everything from the idler arm to the rotors with 71 parts. I am running with 295/50-15 tires and rims right now. Is there a way to identify the year of the power steering and any suggestions on trying to get it to align. It pulls slightly to the right but also jerk side to side. I have tightened up the the sterring box. Still with no good results. So far no one in town will attempt it.

I know you're not going to like this, but I wouldn't align one with 295/50s on the front either.

That's too much tire for the front. Yes, I've run them on the front of my trucks myself, so I'm not digging on you, but I wouldn't align one for a customer with them.

I found the truck will wander and dart with those things on the front.

The power steering box should be the same pretty much any year up to the o-ring type fittings. Even then, the box interchanges, just the hoses must be changed with them too.

Can you mount narrower tires and see if a shop will then align it?

Thanks, I figured as much. They were on the truck when i bought it. Plan on getting a new set of torq thrusts 17x8 by this fall. It's just been annoying driving with it

If it is that annoying you can buy a caster/camber guage that attaches to the hub magnetically and get it closer yourself.

Like has been said, the shops won't touch it because it will still wander because of those big tires and they don't want to have to put up with an unhappy customer. If you spend the money you would have paid them on a new tool..........you can make it better and understand that is the way it is going to be until you change tires. Then you still have the tool afterward

295/50 for the front are to big, that will handle like night and day difference switching to a more normal sized tire. I run the 295 in the back and 235/60 in the front on 8" rims.

LONGHAIR: what is this CASTOR/Camber guage that you mention? is there some info, links, on this? I have most of the parts for my frontend installed and would like to try and get this as close as possible before bringing it to an alignment shop..

thanks guys, like i said before i just got the truck and this is my first project. I would like to find a set of original style rims w/ rings until I can spend the money on a nice set. Ironically the day after I posted this I blew a front tire, inside wall rubbed to the steel belting. thanks again for the help
