Motor mount ?
I'll be lifting the engine tommorow to relpace the pan gasket. While pre-scouting the situation i noticed the motor mounts are bolted from underneath the stamped steel frame mount. It looks awfully tight to get a wrench in there. So I'm hoping someone will set me straight before i create a nightmare for my self.
Whats the best way to undo the motor mounts? thanks

3/8 ratchet and a socket will pull them right out.
I use an air ratchet usually.

Wait till you're putting it back together & you try to stick your hand in there to start the bolts. Run the kids off so they don't hear the new words you will invent.
![]() When you get one lined up, put the bolt in about halfway, then get the other side lined up. |

I used a ratchet and some extensions and came up through the suspension. No problems getting to either one.

Loosen the three frame stand bolts to allow them to move around freely. Then, line up the bolts and start them. Now, let the engine all the way down onto the truck. Finally, tighten all the bolts up.

No room for an erection wrench Southpa but thanks. TX Firefigthers suggestion looks like it should work and when I take out the engine in the fall I'll be drilling out those towers.
That is without a doubt the most idiotic design I have ever seen. thanks for the help guys steve
