1987 Burb LS Swap
Well guys I'm starting a new swap! 1987 GMC Suburban R15 6.2L Diesel. Bought this a couple years back with the intent to keep the diesel, But as we all know the 6.2 is very low power. and it will not pull very well. So I decided to LS swap to a 6.0L LQ4 4l65E from a 2004 H2 Hummer. The Hummer had 337,000 miles so it needed to be rebuilt. After a lot of research on the 2500HD forums I decided to make it a torque monster. Installed a Vinci 080 ultra torque cam shaft kit with new lifters .080 push rods and dual springs. LS2 flat top pistons with floating pin rods, 8.1L 80lb injectors and Speed Engineering Shorties. Sorry for the rotated photo but I have tried everything to rotate it.

Re: 1987 Burb LS Swap
Any idea what that combo of engine goodies delivers to the crank? I'm planning on doing a square body suburban for my middle child in a few years. The iron block 6.0 motors seem like a good sweet spot. I'd love to hear more about your research on the matter.

Well this is my 2nd 6.0 swap. I put the same engine in a 79 GMC 1500 LWB truck back in 2009 been driving it ever sense. Very good dependable engine lots of torque and power.

Re: 1987 Burb LS Swap
I have talked to a tuner about this combo he seems to think it will be around 400 HP and 450 TQ at the flywheel. But we'll see I'm not sure.
