Exhaust Routing Advice/Opinions
Back to working on the exhaust on my '60. Since there was no exhaust at all when I started I am looking for some advice on routing. I am back to where the rear end trailing arms meet the frame crossmember and thought the hard part was over but maybe not. Do I turn down between the the back of the rear axle and the panhard bar (or whatever you want to call it) or do you try to squeeze over the top of the panhard bar and then turn down? Pics on how you have yours routed would be fantastic.

Re: Exhaust Routing Advice/Opinions
Thats pretty much the same way my original went.
Now I have a dual setup from 12bolt. I came out the sides right in front of the tires. I used porter mufflers with a cross pipe. Its sounds great and has a good rumble. I actually wish I had gone with the shorter porters to make it louder but I want the hot rod sound. |

Re: Exhaust Routing Advice/Opinions
Thanks for the pictures guys. Man I wish I had a lift. I have the front lifted up and then sliding around on my back on a dirty cement floor. Looks like originally it did come down between the back of the rear end and the panhard bar. Kinda hard to do that with a dual exhaust though as the one side would have to be way low to get underneath it. I never thought about just coming out in front of the back wheels. That may certainly be a lot easier option for me.

Re: Exhaust Routing Advice/Opinions
if you are stock height theres plenty of room going up and over your rear axle.

In front of the tire is easier. But, if you go all the way back, I would route it over the top if there's room vs. between the housing & Panhard bar.
