Wiring 5.3 into factory bulk head. HELP!
I used a 2001 tahoe for a donor vehicle and took everything needed.
My Problem is I don't understand how to integrate the wiring harness/fusebox from the tahoe into the bulkhead of the 69. this is my first swap for any type of vehicle so all the terminology is still a bit confusing. ive been looking for a thread or video that dummy proofs it for me. im frustrated with this and i am at my last resort |

Are you gonna retain the factory fuse box from the tahoe?

Re: Wiring 5.3 into factory bulk head. HELP!
This is on lt1swap.com website. It explains where to hook certain pins to make the engine run. And the bulkhead spinout is on this site somewhere and shows what wire goes where. If you are looking at the bottom of the tahoe fuse block, C1 plug pin B11 will go to battery hot, I just hooked mine to the junction block beside the battery. And C1 plug pin A9 will be your Ignition hot, it comes from the bulkhead on the firewall and was the wire that went to the coil. If it hasnt been changed over to HEI ignition, you will have to change this wire in the bulkhead, the one there is a resistance wire and will not work for you. It is the purple and orange wire in the last picture below. And C3 plug pin F1 will feed the fuel pump, this is the fuel pump hot wire. Just retain the tahoe fuse block plugs to put your wires in and cover the pins up so they dont contact anything and short out, I usually take all the wires out of the bulkheads and screw them back in the bottom of the factory tahoe fuseblock. Hope this helps.

If wiring is hard for you it will be better to buy or pay to convert your engine harness
They are usually re wired to be a stand alone harness as addition to the truck harness with a few wires joing them together |

Also you will need to power up the pink wire in plug C100. This wire is an ignition source for the pcmcia and transmission if you are using the 4l60e. Easy way would be to use a fused wire from the ignition wire that goes to C1 pin A9 on the main Tahoe fuseblock.
