1961 C30 Brakes
My C30 right rear brake kept locking up. I finally took it apart and found that it was missing the self adjusting lever and associated hardware! UGGGH!! I know that parts for the rear brakes are impossible to find, especially the adjuster lever. Anyone have any idea where I can get one? It’s a HO74 rear end if that makes any difference.

Not sure on the brake parts I know they are hard to find. I swapped in a 14 bolt and it bolted right in place on my 62 c30 so it would be easy to get parts.

Re: 1961 C30 Brakes
I have used 14 bolt brakes in a HO72 rear end before. The backing plates bolt right in place of the HO72 backing plate. By doing this i was able to use the drums off the 14 bolt. On another note, not sure if this helps but i had a 62 half ton that didnt have that hardware, the 12 bolt stuff fit right on the HO32 brakes. I would check to see if the hardware from a 14 bolt fits?

Re: 1961 C30 Brakes
Many thanks TChevs! Learned something new. Before I go the way of the 14 bolt, I’m experimenting with some C20 hardware to see if it works. Ordered it up from RockAuto. Is there any “years” of 14 bolt that work better or all the same?

Re: 1961 C30 Brakes
OK...thanks!! Just found them for a 13 in drum and ordered the last two. Went ahead and ordered the left as well. Appreciate you!
