1987 Pickup Dual Tank Switch Help

I just got a 1987 Chevy 4wd with dual tanks. Somebody cut the plug off the back of the switch and I need to know how the wires go. There is a gray, tan, tan with white stripe and black.

Mathew21 that helps but I need to know with the switch in my hand what color goes to what terminal. That diagram shows the correct colors.

Re: 1987 Pickup Dual Tank Switch Help

You could download the GM wiring diagrams for your truck.
1988 & 1989 are fairly easy to read 1987 are a bit obnoxious and the NL2 option wiring is the same in all three years.

Re: 1987 Pickup Dual Tank Switch Help

Just went through this, so this worked for me

Looking at the back of the SWITCH top up

the left top prong is bat +
the right top is ground
left lower LH
Right lower RH

I did different colors 'cuz I was making something custom for my 69, but that is where the wires go
