Gas tank relocation question ?
I have relocated my gas tank to a side fill gas tank through the bed side. I've already installed the outer bedside fill , I would like to see how anyone has finished the inside of the bed to cover the filler neck. Looking for ideas. Thanks for the help.

Re: Gas tank relocation question ?
Here's mine. Widened cover from Blazer or Suburban.

I used a C10 auxiliary tank filler tube cover.

Smitty, I love it!
More info on the parts you used please. Year of donor vehicles? I really like the way that looks. Don't suppose you have a photo of the other side where the fill is? |

Re: Gas tank relocation question ?
I had a body man do all the work for me. He was a friend of my brother. Still $$$$$. In any case the door and the pocket, with the cable release which is behind the drivers seat. Came from a import car. They selected it from a local pick a part. Picked one that had the same contour as the bedside. The cover on the inside of the bed was from a Blazer of our vintage, it was widened but not sure by how much. Not sure on some of this stuff because I collected parts for 20-25 yrs. And the memory isn’t what it used to be. Will try to post pictures after they down load from my album. The truck went down to the frame.. Extensive rust repair along the drip rail, and floor panels by rocker panels. Two beds to make one, etc.

Re: Gas tank relocation question ?
I like the Idea of an under the bed tank, and I even started to put one under my truck.
I have since changed my plans. I will still be removing the tank from the cab, but , I think, I am going to put a in bed tool box in the bed and put the blazer tank inside it. This will allow me to store a spare under the bed as I am not a fan of not having a spare on hand, May even have tool box painted to look like a old cooler, That is up in the air. Just an other idea. |

Re: Gas tank relocation question ?
The filler neck may have come from the same era Blazer. Good luck! And thanks for the compliment, spent a ton on the truck. But does turn heads any time it is out of the garage.
