71/72 throttle cable
Anyone bought a reproduction cable assembly recently? The cable in my K20 bit the dust today, they just don’t make things to way they used to I only got 49 years from it
Just wondering if I can trust aftermarket quality and fit or if I should look for an OE cable.

Re: 71/72 throttle cable
It's been a few years but I bought the Lokar cable stuff. It works great. I have also went to Lowes and bought the 1/4" cable and locks and and made a throttle cable before. I used the old sleeve housing.

Re: 71/72 throttle cable
I don’t have an answer but GMC Paul fwiw does carry a cable for 4wd applications. OEM pieces seem scarce these days.

Re: 71/72 throttle cable
Thanks guys, it was the cable sheath that broke, the cable itself is fine. I’ll check our GMCPauls here in a bit. I need a few other small parts anyway.

Re: 71/72 throttle cable
Just an update, neither GMC Paul’s or Classic Heartbeat carry the 71/72 cables, I ended up ordering from Classic Parts, I’ll update on the results when it comes in.

Re: 71/72 throttle cable
Here is the thread on mine when I did the Lokar pedal install. It's a direct replacement for a stock pedal. They have them in black also.

Re: 71/72 throttle cable
When you remove the old one, If you could, ship it off, I would like to see if I can reskin it. I have done this to other vehicles that parts are next to impossble to find.
