Need tires
The Hercules tires on my '68 Chevy are old and one of the front tires has cord separation so bad I can't drive it the 3 miles to town to have it replaced.
The tires on it now are P275/60R15 on 6 hole rally Wheels. Thinking of Cooper Cobras but am open to suggestions. Darn sure don't want Chinese tires no matter how cheap they are. |

Re: Need tires
I have Cooper Cobras on my 72 C10 and my 67 F@rd and like them quite well. I do not recommend the Mickey Thompson's Sportsman S/T's. I had a set where 2 of them separated, heated up, and swelled so much in the rear wheel well of my Mustang that I had to let air out to get it out. One was in the front and the other in the rear...two different occurrences. Yes, they were out of warranty by a year, but with less than 7000 miles on them. Mickey Thompson would not replace the set, so I went with the Cobra's. I still don't have many miles on the Cobras, but have high hopes for them.

Re: Need tires
If you do any dirt in that truck check out BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain. These Rugged terrain tires are mostly street tires with a hint of off-road tread........... but still quiet.
https://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/auto...ed-terrain-t-a Edit: whoops............... don't see a tire size similar to what you currently have.

Re: Need tires
I have Goodrich radial TAs on my truck and just put cooper cobras on a ‘67 cougar I just finished restoring. Both seem great so far.
Haven’t had the coopers long at all but ride nice and they look great. Mark

Re: Need tires
Having run 275/60/15's on numerous vehicles for more than 30 years my favorites were Les Swab Grand Prix's but, I don't have any recent experience with them as I swore to never give Les Swab another dime about 8 years ago. Since then I have run Coopers or BF Goodrich tires.
I have found that the Coopers will last 5 to 8000 miles longer but, they have poor grip in the rain compared to the BF Goodrich tires. Living in Portland Oregon means the BF Goodrich's are installed on my daily driver Burban. P.S. Your 503 short wide is beautiful!
