Unhappy tbi issue

My 89 crew cab was sitting for awhile now won't run. Fuel pump buzzes , will start by squirting gas down tbi. Will run for 15 seconds or so with both injectors flowing. Was running and starting fine last fall. Where do I start ?

Re: tbi issue

check fuel pressure. fuel pump may be gummed up from bad fuel.

Re: tbi issue

Try using some Sea Foam in it and see if that helps to clean it out as well, once you get it running.

Re: tbi issue

Might be a dumb question, but are you getting oil pressure when you crank it? I think there is a safety feature that will prevent it from running if the computer is not sensing oil pressure. Just something to think about. Let us know what you find!

Re: tbi issue

Thanks for posting that troubleshooting chart 44th Miss Inf, I could have made good use of these a couple of weeks ago while trying to determine if my fuel pump was bad.

Re: tbi issue

I just want to say thanks for all the help, especially the trouble shooting diagram. I had a wiring issue at the alternator! I guess if you don't give up even an old guy can win. Thanks again everyone.
