SM465 Rebuild

Hello all. I am looking for someone in Northern California who can rebuild my 4wd SM465. I could rebuild it myself but I just don't have the time to do it right now. I plan on towing a car trailer with the truck this is going in, so I am interested in any upgrades to make this a stronger, nicer transmission. Any info is appreciated. If you or anyone you know of can do it, please let me know. Thanks.

Re: SM465 Rebuild

What are the symptoms that require a rebuild?

Re: SM465 Rebuild

I actually haven't driven this one yet. It's in a non-running parts truck I just bought that supposedly has been sitting since 1994. It feels pretty sloppy when I put it into different gears compared to my other truck that has an SM465. It may be fine as is, but since it's gonna be out of the truck anyways, I'd rather not take any chances and just have it rebuilt for my own peace of mind.
