Flexplate question

67 C10, swapping in a 2004 6.0/4L80 combo. The engine is pretty healthy and I plan on running a stall converter. From what I hear, I will need to change the flexplate to run a stall (?) I've heard the LS1 flexplate will work ?

I understand the pump spacing and shimming I just want to make sure it's the right one for the starter etc. The one that came off the engine had a small crack at one of the bolt holes. I have to replace it some way.

Thanks.

You don't have to change the type of flexplate. You can stick with the 4l80 flexplate as long as you buy a converter with the stall speed you want that's made for an 4l80e. I suspect you're referring to what you see when folks swap from a 60e to an 80e and just have a converter made with the 60e bolt pattern to keep their existing flexplate.

Re: Flexplate question

Contact one the stall converter folks and ask them about flex plates. I've only used 4L60E trans but use a SFI rated flex plates on my swaps.
