Long tube headers

I am sure this is in another post somewhere but I was having trouble locating it. I am putting my 72 Blazer back together and am putting a 383 in it. Is there anyone running long tube headers that were better for install than others? I am planning to go ceramic coated but have heard some sets of headers fit perfect and others say they have clearance issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

I have them in my 72. Is yours 4wd? The exhaust shop did a great job working 2.5” pipes around cross members and the transfer case. Other than that there was no issue with the install of truck headers. You running efi on your stroker? Or carb/th350?

Re: Long tube headers

Forgot to mention it is a 4x4.

I'm planning to start with carb/th350.

What brand of headers did you go with?

I went with the Jegs brand that were about $100 at the time. I I dumped my exit over the rear axle with 40 series flow masters. Sounds amazing but lots of droning in the cab-

Re: Long tube headers

Heddmans. I tried some Blackjacks and Doug Thorley long tubes in the day and only tgecHeddmans cleared everything including clutch linkage. How much cam? If under 220 degrees at .050 or thereabouts I’d seriously consider the 2 1/2” Corvette rams horns.

Re: Long tube headers

And to add insult to all this, it seems that good set of headers are all delayed in production. Many until like November. I don't want to wait that long to get this project moving along.
